I saw Dr. Zielinski in the spring of 2011 for cognitive impairment, which was attributed to chronic neurologic Lyme disease. I saw him three times a week for four weeks. During this time I had significant improvements. These included improved balance, reduction in vertigo, increased ability to process information, and a general increase in well-being.
After a month of exercises and treatments I could safely drive further distances, read a newspaper article with greater ease, and have conversations in a group setting more comfortably. I am hoping for more improvements as I continue working with Dr. Zielinski and his staff.
In 1995 I was diagnosed with Late Onset Hydrocephalus Aqueductal Stenosis at the age of 31. I have endured 25 surgeries (23 within the first five years) and seen eight different neurologists. In 2010 I had my 24th surgery to implant a programmable shunt, which began to turn my health and my life around. However, my illness and the surgeries have taken their toll on my mind, body, and spirit, and by the time I learned about Dr. Zielinski I felt pushed to my limit.
It has been four months since that appointment and each time I leave thinking, “Wow! He cares. He listens. He analyzes without judging. He’s a charm!” I used to sweat profusely for no reason nearly every day, and within the first three months of working with Dr. Zielinski I went an entire week without sweating, and am steadily seeing more normal days than not. He is helping me overcome other symptoms, such as poor balance, blurry vision, headaches, and rapid pulse that made me feel 77 instead of 47! I cannot wait to see what other symptoms Dr. Zielinski can help me with, symptoms I thought I was destined to live with for the rest of my life. I feel that I have been given a second chance at health and vitality, and I have Dr. Zielinski to thank for much of it!
In 2001 I was diagnosed with a movement disorder called dystonia. I was experiencing forced neck postures, severe jaw protrusion, and lost control of my tongue and had to use pen and paper to communicate in public. Doctors gave me tranquilizers and muscle relaxers, which caused a serious hip and back injury that required surgery and left me impaired. I also got “brain toxic” from an anticholinergic medication, becoming even worse. I received Botox injections to relax my jaw muscles, which caused severe nerve damage. Over the years I have tried many different alternative healing modalities. Some of these methods gave me relief and my speech returned to normal and I looked OK. However, I was still having a hard time managing.
In 2010 I was rear ended by two cars and my speech started slipping again. Within days I was back to where I began and was referred to Dr. Zielinski. What an amazing, life-changing experience it has been!
It took Dr. Zielinski several visits to collect data and figure out how he could help me. Thanks to my rehabilitation exercise, my speech is clear most of the time now and the facial movements have diminished. I am so much happier and I feel stronger and more confident. In times of high stress I can do extra exercises to calm myself. It’s very cool to have a personalized way to manage my disorder without drugs. It’s a gift, like giving crutches to a lame person.
My experiences with specialists has ranged from one end of the spectrum to the other but never have I felt so cared for. The movement disorder causes slow thought processing and I have a clumsy way of communicating. Dr. Zielinski has been amazing at staying with me every step of the way helping me balance the delicacies of my disorder. His knowledge and understanding of what is going on inside my brain have validated me and given me information I never had before. I have new hand movement and my future is much brighter than it was just a few months ago. I couldn’t be happier with the outcome of my treatment so far.
My experience with Dr. Zielinski has been completely positive. I have had an intermittent problem with vertigo for 15 to 20 years. I saw all types of health care practitioners and would obtain some relief, but still had residual discomfort. Dr. Zielinski is extremely thorough in his examination and the tests he used helped to zero in on a treatment plan. His office staff are excellent and the entire experience has been positive.
