Living with chronic pain can be extremely challenging and frustrating. Chronic pain can impact all aspects of your life, and even virtually bring it to a halt.  With your NeuroRescue program, we identify the dysfunctional neurological systems that are creating your symptoms, and create unique therapies to improve their function so you can get back on the path to living your best life.

WHAT IS CHRONIC PAIN?

Chronic pain is defined as any pain experienced for 3 months or longer. The term chronic pain encapsulates many different pain disorders, including, but not limited to: chronic low back pain, chronic headaches, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome (myalgic encephalomyelitis), and chronic temporomandibular joint disorders. These conditions are poorly understood and often overlap in patients and have been termed Chronic Overlapping Pain Conditions (COPC) by the National Institutes of Health.

OUR TREATMENTS

Pain usually starts with damage to tissue. Once pain becomes chronic it may no longer require the tissue to be injured, and can persist long after the tissue has healed. This is because the experience of pain involves systems that transmit pain signals to the brain, as well as brain systems that normally shut those pain signals off. Chronic pain can involve functional imbalances in neurological pathways in the brain’s frontal and parietal lobes, basal ganglia, thalamus, limbic system and spinal cord. It can even involve systems that help you make sense of where you are in the world, such as visual and inner ear pathways. We utilize state of the art diagnostic technologies to precisely identify the impaired neurons and pathways that create these functional imbalances. We evaluate the function of every system involved, and create unique customized rehabilitation plans to help you get your chronic pain under control. Read More

CLINICAL RESEARCH

Clinical research is continually providing new insights into the causes and systems involved in chronic pain.  Cutting-edge diagnostics and therapies have been proven in research to improve quality of life for those suffering from chronic pain. We use these resources to identify the sources of your dysfunction and design therapy programs for best outcomes. You can find some of these resources here. Learn More

I have dealt with chronic pain for over 10 years. I have had 8 back surgeries and multiple procedures. As people with chronic pain know, it changes your life… During the course of the treatment I was able to see changes happening in me. I started to laugh, and not with my fake laugh. I actually was really laughing! I smiled a ton more and my pain was becoming more controlled. I am so thankful for Dr. Z and his team. I am so thankful for what he and his team were able to help me with. I can never express my thanks enough.
