STROKES & VASCULAR INJURIES
Living with the consequences of a stroke can be profoundly debilitating and frustrating. Strokes can produce changes in movement, vision, speech, and cognition that make it difficult to function in the world. With your NeuroRescue program, we help you improve function of your injured systems, so you can get back on the path to living your best life.
WHAT IS A STROKE?
A stroke occurs when a blood vessel in the brain is either blocked or ruptured. Strokes will cause the parts of the brain that rely on blood from the involved blood vessel to become damaged or die. Strokes can be disabling, and lead to considerable neurological dysfunction.
CONDITION TYPES
Transient Ischemic Attack | Arteriovenous | Aphasia | Hemiparesis | Thalamic Pain Syndrome
OUR TREATMENTS
Strokes result in damage to brain cells and neurological pathways from disruptions in blood flow. Neurons that go without oxygen for too long will unfortunately die off, and nothing can be done to bring those back. Other neurons in the same pathways may become damaged and lose function. These may still be viable, but without proper stimulation will ultimately die off as well. Our therapies are designed to take whatever neurons still work, and make them work better. Precisely targeted stimulation and exercises can often help improve the function and endurance of the damaged neurons. This can lead to improved balance, motor control, vision, and overall function. We utilize state of the art diagnostic technologies to precisely identify the neurons and pathways creating your challenges, then create unique customized rehabilitation plans to help you regain as much function as possible.
